What is Functional Fitness?

The Functional Fitness Protocol is designed to optimize your fitness level and increase muscle health, aerobic function, mobility, and weight loss. This is not a one size fits all protocol. Our customized programs are built around your current level of fitness and focused to meet your individual goals. We employ a dynamic fitness regimen that emphasizes strength training, mobility, and endurance training to promote cardiovascular health and injury prevention.

What’s Included in the Functional Fitness?

At The Men’s Clinic, our Functional Fitness Protocol goes beyond traditional fitness programs by focusing on the two primary pillars of longevity: zone two lactate threshold training and maintaining optimal muscle mass.

During the comprehensive consultation with our fitness director, you will undergo a baseline assessment and fitness test. Using this information, our team of physicians and fitness experts will create a customized fitness plan tailored to your specific needs and goals.

As part of our coached functional fitness protocol, you will have access to ongoing physical fitness assessments. These assessments allow us to monitor your progress and make necessary adjustments to your plan, ensuring it evolves and adapts with you. In addition you will have weekly access to your trainer for coaching.

In addition, we offer a Performance Fitness Lab where you can take advantage of a full Vo2 max assessment. This assessment includes detailed measurements of your aerobic and anaerobic thresholds, precise heart rate zones, and an evaluation of metabolic efficiencies, specifically fat and carbohydrate utilization during exercise. We can also assess your resting metabolic rate and, in some cases, lactate levels.

With our Functional Fitness Protocol, you can unlock the incredible benefits of fitness, optimize your metabolic function, and maintain optimal muscle mass to enhance your longevity and overall well-being. The Men’s Clinic is here to support you on your fitness journey and help you achieve your maximum potential.

Dr. Piercecchi and Dr. Monterrosa took my case after the first two doctors told me everything was fine. They looked at my case as a whole and made sure to get all the information. After over a year and a half, I finally have answers when other doctors told me nothing was wrong. I can’t thank them enough for everything they have done! If I could give 6 stars I would!”
